Washington C.H. Firefighters Conduct Hands-On Training Inside Structure Set for Demolition

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Members of the Washington Court House Fire Department spent Saturday morning sharpening their firefighting skills through hands-on training inside a local structure scheduled for demolition.

A total of 15 firefighters participated in the training exercise, which focused on critical operations including ladder placement and operations, ventilation, search and rescue techniques, scene size-up, and department standard operating procedures.

Through a new partnership with the Fayette County Land Bank, firefighters were able to utilize the building for realistic training opportunities before its demolition. The exercise did not involve live fire or water flow, allowing crews to focus on improving tactics and decision-making in a real-world environment.

The department said the training helps ensure firefighters are prepared to respond effectively when the community needs them most.

The Washington Court House Fire Department also thanked Fayette County Box 65 Scene Support for its continued support during training and emergency operations.
