Two Firefighters Hospitalized After Responding to Washington C.H. House Fire

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — Two firefighters were hospitalized as a precaution after responding to a residential structure fire on East Paint Street on Friday, July 17, according to the Washington Court House Fire Department.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the home and requested mutual aid from neighboring departments.

During operations, crews rescued two cats from the residence. The animals were turned over to the Fayette Regional Humane Society and are reported to be doing well.

Two firefighters were transported to Adena Fayette Medical Center after medical concerns were identified, according to a social media post by the department. Both were admitted overnight for observation and released the following day.

The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire alongside the Washington Court House Fire Department.

No additional injuries were reported.
