Highland County Special Response Team Training Planned Wednesday in Mowrystown

MOWRYSTOWN, Ohio — Residents in the Village of Mowrystown can expect an increased law enforcement presence Wednesday as the Highland County Sheriff's Office conducts a Special Response Team training exercise.

According to the sheriff's office, the training is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, and will take place on North High Street in Mowrystown.

The exercise will involve members of the Highland County Special Response Team, which includes deputies from the Highland County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Greenfield Police Department.

Officials said the training is designed to prepare officers for emergency situations and emphasized that it does not pose a risk to the community. All participants are trained law enforcement officers, and all equipment used during the exercise will be non-lethal.

Residents may notice an increased number of police vehicles in the area, along with officers wearing both standard uniforms and tactical gear. Signs will be posted to notify the public that a training exercise is underway.

The sheriff's office said the exercise is not expected to impact traffic on North High Street, and residents are encouraged to continue their normal daily activities.
