Frankfort Sunflower Festival Canceled for 2026 Due to Downtown Streetscape Delays

FRANKFORT, Ohio — The 2026 Frankfort Sunflower Festival has been canceled due to delays with the village's downtown streetscape project, organizers announced.

In a statement, organizers said the decision was made because of construction delays associated with the Frankfort Downtown Streetscape Project.

"Due to delays with the Frankfort Downtown Streetscape Project it is in the interest of everyone involved to cancel," organizers said.

The annual festival, which draws visitors to Frankfort each year, will not be held in 2026. Organizers apologized for the cancellation and expressed hope the event will return next year.

"We apologize and hope that everyone has a wonderful rest of your summer," the statement said.

Although the festival has been canceled, commemorative merchandise celebrating America's 250th Anniversary remains available. Festival T-shirts and garden flags can be purchased at the Frankfort Village Office and the Frankfort Shortstop, and organizers said orders can also be shipped.

"We do have Festival merchandise available in celebration of America's 250th Anniversary," organizers said.

The announcement concluded with a message to the community: "Be safe! We hope to see you all next year!"
